What this site does

bpmcounter.app provides a tap tempo counter, a browser-based BPM detector, and educational guides about musical tempo. The tools do not require an account, payment, or uploaded music library. The site operator does not sell personal information and does not use the BPM tools to identify you.

Audio and microphone processing

When you choose an audio file, the file is decoded and analyzed in your browser. When you start microphone detection, your browser asks for microphone permission and the audio is analyzed in temporary browser memory. Audio files, microphone samples, and analysis results are not uploaded to or stored by bpmcounter.app. You can stop microphone processing at any time by selecting Stop, changing modes, hiding the page, or leaving the site.

Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 with measurement ID G-0EBXPQ1S57 to understand aggregate use of the site, such as which pages are viewed and whether the tools load and function. Google Analytics may process page URLs, referrers, basic interaction events, browser and device information, and an approximate location derived from an IP address. Google states that IP addresses are used for collection and location services and are not logged or stored as individual IP addresses in Google Analytics.

Google Analytics may use first-party cookies, including _ga, to distinguish a browser and its sessions. We do not send names, email addresses, audio content, microphone content, or other directly identifying information to Google Analytics. Cookies and your choices

The Analytics tag can create measurement cookies in your browser. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. You can also install Google’s Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. If cookies or JavaScript are blocked, the BPM counter and audio detector may still work, but analytics measurement will be limited or unavailable.

Where local law requires consent for analytics cookies or similar measurement technologies, the site should be used only after the applicable consent choice has been provided. This implementation disables Google Signals and advertising personalization signals. It does not currently include a consent banner or Google Consent Mode; before serving visitors in a jurisdiction that requires prior consent, the site operator must add a suitable consent management mechanism or gate analytics collection for that region.

Hosting, security, and retention

Like most public websites, the hosting or CDN provider may process technical request information such as an IP address, timestamp, browser user agent, requested URL, and security logs to deliver and protect the site. bpmcounter.app has no user account database and does not retain submitted audio or microphone recordings on its servers. Google Analytics data is retained according to the settings of the associated Analytics property.

Third-party services and policy changes

Google Analytics is operated by Google and is subject to Google’s own terms and privacy documentation. Links to third-party pages are provided for reference; their policies may change independently. We may update this policy when the site, measurement setup, or applicable requirements change. The “last updated” date above identifies the current version.
